I enjoy making photos of architecture. But in Montana I haven't had a lot of opportunities to do so. Aside from old barns, grain bins, and grain elevators, there aren't a lot of architectural gems located in the more rural parts of Montana. Recently, however, I was asked to create a portfolio of my architectural shots because an architect asked if I could photograph their different commercial projects in Montana. So that is why this gallery was created.

Architecture is the blending of art of engineering. When it is done well architects can create a building that becomes something that lives in the hearts and minds of anyone who comes in contact with it. And photographing exemplary forms of architecture requires a photographer to peer into the mind of the architect and highlight exactly what they were hoping to create when that building or structure was designed. And that's not always easy.

I had ample opportunity to photograph architecture...both old and new...when I lived in Wisconsin. My proximity to urban areas made it easy to practice my craft and here are just a few of those photographs of architecture I made.

In this gallery of 20+ photos of architecture and design I am featuring some of my favorite architectural photographs. I hope they illustrate what the architects hoped to accomplish when they designed the structures. And I hope you enjoy them too.
