I don't know why the grit and grime of industrial photography has allured me over the years, but it has. It's not like I grew up in an environment with a lot of these things around me. But whatever the reason I was drawn to this world and continue to make industrial photos all of the time.

I did spend many years working in the telecommunications industry. You will see some of that in my photography, too. For whatever reason you will also see a lot of photos of the electrical transmission and distribution industry, railroad industry, power generation industry, and oil industry on the pages here (check out my separate gallery of railroad industry photos HERE). The oil industry in particular is easy to photograph in eastern Montana as that world is very near to me. Same goes for the electrical industry, which is all around me (check out my separate gallery of electrical industry photos HERE). Steel, smoke, and grease are the ingredients that fascinate me.

I've worked for a variety of clients in different industries over the years who have hired me to make industrial photos; in part because they can trust me. And trust is very important when these companies invite you onto their property to make photos (and video). Sometimes trust is a hard thing to do when photography and industry meet. I try not to immerse myself into the politics of it all. All I want to do is make great industrial photos.

In the off chance you have not yet seen my gallery of photos of industry I thought I would present them to you now. This is my gallery of 20+ Photos of industrial photos: factories, towers, trains, fuel, steel, energy, construction, aviation, and transportation. They are the lifeblood of the American economy. I hope you enjoy seeing these photos as much as I enjoyed making them.
