What does Todd Klassy, T. S. Eliot, Gore Vidal, and Virginia Woolf all have in common? All have been published in The Times Literary Supplement, a weekly literary review published in London by News UK, a subsidiary of News Corp.
The photo they chose was one I took on a photo shoot with a cowgirl at Fort Belknap, Montana. It is a popular photo and a pose I just suggested on a whim. I'm glad I did as it has been published a couple of times already.
To have one of my western photos published on the cover of The Times Literary Supplement (TLS) is quite an honor. The publication has published the essays, reviews and poems of some of the greatest writers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Many writers have described the publication as being indispensable. Prize-winning writer Mario Vargas Llosa said: “I have been reading the TLS since I learned English 40 years ago. It is the most serious, authoritative, witty, diverse and stimulating cultural publication in all the five languages I speak.”
I'm just a lowly agricultural photographer in Havre, Montana. That is a long way from London. So to see my photo associated with such a prestigious publication is quite humbling.
