I recently embarked on a long term arrangement with The Ampersand Agency, and ad agency located in Austin, Texas. Some of the photographs in my American cowboy series will be used for a series of print advertisements for Cavender's, a privately owned western clothing chain with more than 54 stores in the United States.

This particular advertisement, the first in the series, features Daryl Mitchell and his son Garrison. It was taken in 2010. Garrison has grown up so much since then. It was a candid shot I made while sneaking behind a horse trailer when the two of them weren't paying attention. To this very day it is still one of my favorite photographs of cowboy life.
