There's something beautiful—and sad—about old abandoned buildings. And in Montana, it seems, there is no shortage of them.
Is it just me or are there more old, abandoned buildings in Montana than in most other places? Perhaps it is only because the vast, wide-open landscape makes it harder to hide them. It may also be because old railroad towns that once lined the tracks that crisscrossed the state of Montana were closed up many years ago when trains no longer need to stop every 60 miles for coal and water. Whatever the reason, the many abandoned buildings make this Montana photographer very happy. I love to make photos of abandoned buildings.
